Zingela Volunteer Program
Protecting South Africa's Wildlife Heritage

Zingela is dedicated to restoring South Africa’s natural heritage by creating a world-class sanctuary for endangered species. Our volunteer program, initiated in 2013, is at the heart of this mission.

Volunteers play a crucial role in gathering vital data to support our breeding and reintroduction programs. By monitoring wildlife populations and studying their behaviour, you’ll contribute to the restoration of this vast African wilderness.

Community Upliftment projects
Zingela's Commitment to Community

Zingela Nature Reserve is dedicated to uplifting the surrounding communities. Our initiatives focus on education, infrastructure, and employee well-being.

Community Development

  • Gideon Preschool: Recognizing the critical importance of early childhood education, we built a preschool in the Gideon community in 2012. This facility provided access to education for children who previously had none.
  • Gideon Water System: To address the community’s urgent need for clean water, we implemented a water system in 2017. This project involved installing pipes and tanks to provide fresh, running water to every household.

Empowering Our Staff

  • Zingela is committed to the growth and well-being of our employees. We offer opportunities for career development through partnerships with organizations like Wildlife Ranching South Africa (WRSA). To support our staff and their families, we provide fresh produce from our on-site garden and regular meat supplies from our butchery.

By investing in our community and our employees, Zingela strives to create a positive and sustainable impact on the region.
